Cut pile carpet is made by threading the fibre through the carpet backing. The tops of the loops are cut leaving upright tufts of fibre. This creates a luxurious and formal look.

Cut pile plush carpet is short and slightly twisted so the pile stands upright but can lean in any direction.
Strands reflect the light in different ways creating texture and depth.
Also known as velvet or velour carpet, it has a soft, velvet texture creating a formal look.
